From an extremely brief look at your surfing shots and a look at these kite boarding shots I see the same lack of a story or frame work. You've captured the action extremely well, but have you drawn in the person who doesn't kite board or surf. Have you conveyed something more.
I think your shots are excellent, but I think there's more to the shot than just getting the action. If you can get that "more", then you really begin to create something special.
The team sports guidelines are a great resource for good sports shots, but I would really like to see something different in terms of boardsports. I don't know what it is , but maybe it's out there somewhere.
Nice Action.

aaaaa.... who am I kidding!
whoever dies with the biggest coolest piece of glass, wins!
Were you on a boat? Mine were shot from the beach at 400mm. I went to your gallery and noticed you were shooting at 200mm. Great composition and sharpness. I like that there is some background other than ocean.
Keep shooting!
Thanks for the comments.
When you find that "something different" let me know.

I was on the shore. I will be back out there this weekend on Sunday. Hope to shoot a local ESA Surf contest on Saturday at Gilgo Beach, NY.
