uploading and other issues.....help!!

on top of the repeated aborted uploads, something happened to this gallery; http://knippixels.smugmug.com/gallery/3061293#166945913

the 'page 1 of 6' tool above the thumbnails has now disappeared.

do we know whats going on yet?

just noticed something else that changed on that gallery. under this bar;"knippixels > Sports > 2007 Pinto County Tournament

there is now a padlock under 'knippixels'

The gallery http://knippixels.smugmug.com/gallery/3061293#166945913 is password protected. We can't see it to see what you're talking about and the password is probably why you see the padlock.

thanks, but I have dozens of galleries that are password protected, and none of them display the padlock like the linked one does. but that's not my main issue now. my issue now is uploading.

I've had minimal problems uploading for the two months I've been doing it. and I've uploaded a lot of galleries.

but now, EVERY upload attempt is being aborted. I keep getting the 'java.netsocket exception. software caused connection abort. socket write error'.

I've had no change in my workflow, and no change in the settings on my computer (that Im aware of ).

but all of a sudden, my recently booming business has come to a screaching halt. I told everyone that I would have the pics from sunday's championship game on my site by tuesday. I've got some of them there, but i can't get the rest of them there.

as I'm posting this, I'm uploading pics one at a time. :cry

I'm still having the same problem. every upload attempt is being aborted for the same reason. it loads a few pics, then it aborts.

Jim, can you run a traceroute to us?

That will help us see if and where any problems may be.


To run a traceroute on a Mac, open finder. Then open applications>utilities>network utility. Then click on the Traceroute tab. When that opens, type in www.smugmug.com. Copy and paste the results to us in an email to our help desk, thanks.
