17-40L or 50 f/1.4

Yeah yeah I know they are two different beasts. However, with one of those lenses I want to be shooting models and weddings. The 50mm lens is halfway there to the 17-40L and I would hate myself to find out that I should have saved my pennies for a couple of short months and bought the 17-40L instead.

    I think you answered your own question. :D

    I love the prime lenses, but if you need a workhorse, the 50mm ain't it, in my opinion, which isn't much.
