I thought that this little guy would be a nice addition to my "portfolio." Any ideas on how to make him better? I've taken several shots of him and this is the best I have!!!

I was trying to get rid of the tree on the side, but cropping with the photo ratio made it a tight fit.

I like the second image better. If the tree is a distraction try cloning it out.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

It's a beautiful shot of a gorgeous duck. I think cropping it to give more space in front of and above the subject improves it. It's always a good idea to give the subject space to look into. I have taken the liberty of doing a crop from your original to demonstrate. I assumed you wanted to retain the 4x6 aspect ratio.

Here's another slightly different version. Since the duck is moving towards the right, I thought that it would be a bit more interesting to show the small wake behind it.

I also did a some extra processing to give the image a bit more color depth.

I'm still trying to figure out the camera, let alone photoshoprolleyes1.gif
I just want to make sure that I can still see the pattern on the side feathers.
    Thanks for the suggestion.

Thank you for giving the little guy another "look." I see what you mean about giving him some room to swim into.

Wow! To be able to combine all of the previous comments into one fix! You did what I wanted to accomplish, keeping the details and color in the feathers and getting rid of the tree!!bowdown.gif One day I will learn it all only for them to come out with new ways to do things!!!!
    Thanks again,
    Deb
