Does the moon sometimes seem bigger than at other times? Like, when it's closer to the horizon?

NASA's using a Shay Stephens piccie to illustrate that it's an optical illusion.

SciFi geek Shay is hoping that this isn't the closest he gets to space. :evil

Always good to look at that great work of Shay's again. Glad they're still using it (and the older version).

The one calculation I still remember from Shay's original tute at DPR is that the Moon moves its diameter every 2 minutes 35 seconds.
