Yes, this is it: A Towel. Da Towel. The most useful thing any Galactic traveler in search of the Ultimate Answer to the Ultimate Question of the Life, the Universe and Everything should always keep handy. :wink
Make it pretty (or ugly). Make it important. Shoot it dry, shoot it wet, shoot it hanged, shoot it folded. Put a beautiful girl on/in it or an ugly dog under it. In any case, you shot shot cry "towel". Make the Target begging for it for a full-page ad.
No compositing, color correction and touch-up OK. Shot must be freshly taken with this assignment in mind.
For the rest of the rules and other themes please consult this sticky.
Let's shoot us some towels!

Edit... I just got the reason for the subject of this assignment - Doh!
Well, here is my first try on this assignment.
This is Luisa's towel with some 80 / 100 years old, linen fabric, hand made embroideries .
The work has been done by my wife's grand mother. (Luisa is my wife).
All the textures you see in the horizontal stripes are embroideries.
I hope to be able to post later a better picture of this table towel.
Great entry, thank you!
Yes, a towel. The questions is whether you can shoot it in an interesting way. Antonio could, can you?
Towel Springboard
I'll maybe try again when we have some daylight, I know the lighting's not great.

These are actually from the palm frongs 20 ft above
Thank you!
Let's try to tell the story. Why is the towel there? Who's gonna use it? Is it unique? Are there others?
These are my towels, I think they were a wedding present. The provenance is nowhere near as interesting as Antonio's towel - they would have come from a department store along with many thousands of others.
A more interesting version is...
They're laid out on the bed ready for a visitor, maybe they'll arrive in a Ford, maybe it has a few dents.
There's a book in the background, it's quite old. Hopefully the visitor won't panic when they see it, the radio also in the background should hopefully drown out the noise from any construction traffic.

They still look pretty sharp to me
I meant - with the picture:-)

One photo has been largely treated as you can see. I like the result.
Very nice entries, thank you!
Very cool, thank you for your entry!
It looks a bit blown for a primary subject, don't you think?
Also, the image as a whole fails to tel the story. What's the towel doing there? Is it for a picnic? Was it left forgotten? Did the wind brought it here?
Indeed the photo doesn't tell a story...
I brought the towel myself and put it there that's all.
Taken at Hermosa Beach earlier today.
Great entry, thank you!

Thank you!
I guess if you cropped a little less so we could see the actual hotel room it would add greatly to the towel story
