I finally got my new toy :wink
All Canon gear: Xti (manual mode F14, 1/200, and ISO 200) + MPE-65 macro lens. MT-24 EX macro flash with Sto-Fen diffusers. Magnification starts out at life size and goes up to 4x. I'll be trying for a 5x shot next time, but I think it will end up looking like an abstract...

Thanks Skippy!
I think I'm glad I had a lot of practice shooting around 3x with a 100mm lens + tubes + diopter or 1.4TC. I think the learning curve would have been very high if the MPE was my first macro lens...
Color and contrast is what I'd expect with "L" glass -very little post processing.
The first shot is life size, the second is 2x, etc.

Thanks Brian! When can I come up and play in your garden so you can show me how to use it?

They are a little "soft". I was trying to get the nose in at least partial focus on the 3x and 4x shots and the dragons head is too big / too much curvature to get everything in sharp focus.
