Please share with me your opinions of professional photography associations; PPA and state associations. Are you a member? Why or why not? Is it a waste of time or money? Not necessary? I would be interested in hearing both sides of this, the yays and nays. Just want to also add, I am not considering it at this moment, I do not consider myself a pro, I am just wanting to gather information.
Thanks so much!

:D I joined WPPI only because it was recommended by the people at the seminar I attended (Monte Zucker) was then suggesting it. I really don't get much out of it other than a free magazine. I also joined PPofA and the real benefit is the insurance against being sued. In this business it isn't IF but WHEN you get sued. A real benefit. Also our local branch is VPPA (Virginia). Their value is only if you participate of which I don't have time for. bsvirginian
