I probably posted the color version back in 2005. Here's the story...

This was my first day with the new camera (Canon 300D) around January 2005. I didn't even have a zoom lens, so I borrowed my friend's 100-300mm lens for this shot.

I just now (06-30-07) decided to try a Black and White conversion using CS2 and Channel Mixer and a few other goodies.

Any C/C welcome...

Good shot of castle rock I would just tone down the sharpening.
Haven't seen anything from you in a while nice to see a post from you. Have you been out and about recently? Did you try that lake with the full moon?

I went to Yosemite NP last Friday and posted a few: Mount Conness and Dana/Gibbs View. I did return the next weekend in Merced and shot a few sunsets, but for some reason I never posted them here. Thanks!

Wow Mike your b&w's are very nice. I like this shot alot but agree maybe just a tad over sharpened.

I am sure this looks very nice in a large print.

Of course you post when I off being a camp counselor for the kids in my church (a very long but fulfilling week).

Maybe just a tad over-sharpened in the trees, but there is snow on the trees too.

I'm going to print this as a 20 x 30 on Metallic paper and a few others in B/W after my surgery.

Thanks for the comments and feedback! bowdown.gif

This is a great shot, I really like it. I've been trying to get one of Castle Rocks but havent been there at the right moment. I've been there numerous times but its always hazy so I don't bother to pull out the camera.

By the way, where did you take this shot from?

    Nice shot.

    Nice shot.

That was my first time there and I got lucky!

My friend was driving. There was a "wide spot" along the road and he just pulled off the road a bit. At the time I could walk "better" so I walked as far as I could and shot that photo. Had to clone a few branches though.

    Thanks for looking!
