Two days off
Well I decided to put this in the people section because it is all about people.
Some of me and some of others.
Some pictures have no people but they are part of the story.
Valentines Day . My day off starts with snow in the morning ,very dry, light fluffy, snow. After the snow falls I drop my daughter off at school and go out to shoot. The day becomes sunny.
DPC has a bridges challenge I have this on my mind, plus challenge #32.
I take this in the early A.M. still its not early enough. I missed sweet light by just minutes.
So I decide to go downtown and capture a sight that is purely Canadian.
The Human Bonspiel, bonspiel is a curling tournament for those not familiar with canuckisms.
Only in Canada Eh!
First of all this happens in the Greatest Canadian Ciy of all... Calgary
Clean air ,blue skies ,odd weather and next door to the Rocky Mountains.
Here is some of the fun the participants enjoyed.
all sorts took part. male female old and young.
Off course being valentines day there must be cupid
Canadiana
Sweaters, toques and winter fun.
This is a corporate event... I think he might be someones boss:huh
So one day leads into the next and I continue on my Influenced by Andy trek and work the streets.
I find this stern ticket giver. On:D the phone to his bookie no doubt.
Again I decide to park my butt beside a puddle and work the reflection street thang..
I come up with this ...
Hmm ... man this street stuff is tough a full 256 card ( I dont shoot Raw much yet) is gone. Shooting at 1/40 is difficult and I think I used the wrong lens.
Only one or two turned out.
But I really like how this one turned out.
And since Today is my Birthday I think I shall close this thread with... Food:eat
My perfect wife let me go get what I wanted for supper . I also cooked it.(Thank God:rofl )
Prime Rib steak ,asparagas, shrimp, bernaise sauce, new potatoes and a nice merlot to wash it down with.....BURP.
43 years old and still growing... um horizontally.
Cheers,
Tim
Time to go its cake time:clap

I liked your street shots also, especially the refections. Must have been fairly warm for your neck of the woods.
I had to work indoors today, but it got up to 66 Fahreneheit - unusual for February in the Midwest.

I've never been to Calgary, but that outdoor rink is something else! Looked to be a perfect, clear day for the event. Great light, sharpness and clarity on those pics! I can honestly say I've never seen human curling before!
You said you're in DPC? That reflection with the street signs would have been a fantastic shot to submit for "Street Signs IV" ... maybe keep it for the next one?
Great shots!

Great work!
The Candid of the guy on the phone is fantastic, relaxed, unaware and personal, good catch.
Happy birthday
Belated happy birthday.
I really like this shot - love the reflected building.
And that dinner looks amazing - we share the same birth year too!:D
And, human curling - - so very Cowgarian!

Super cool shots, man!
I like them all, but especially the winter fun ones and, of course, the food! :-)
More importantly, wish you a happy birthday and lots of cool shots yet to come!
Take care!
