The second of three frames that I took at five times life size (the third was a wash since I missed putting the focus where I wanted it).
All Canon gear: Xti (manual mode F16, 1/200, and ISO 200) + MPE-65 macro lens. MT-24 EX macro flash with home made diffuser.

Sure does let you get close, you can't fit the whole head in the shot,

:skippy Everyone has the right to be stupid, but some people just abuse the privilege :dgrin
For that species I have to stay at 2.5x or lower if I want to get the whole head in the shot. I took that shot just to see if I could, but IMO it's not a good shot of a dragonfly -looks almost like an abstract...
