I'll post a few more as I go through them, but here's one of Neil Hodgson from the UK.

(Had a good chat with Jamie Hacking today too..)

Great shot of Bostrum's bike. Will you be at Laguna for the Moto GP? I see it was raining in the photo of Hodgson, going down the corkscrew in the wet would be scarymwink.gif

Hate you hate you hate you......erm...sorry, had to get that out.

Awesome shots. I wish I could get out there AND get on the track or paddock to shoot stuff like that. I will be happy (for now) shooting WMRRA and track day events with ProFormance for now. Keep my fingers crossed for next year, hopefully someone will tap me to start shooting the real deal. *sigh*

WOW !! You got some names there mate thumb.gif Fantastic stuff.

I am applying for lic to shoot on track here...wont hold my breath though. Indy is easier as eveything is in your face on the gold coast but the bikes are another thing altogether here.

Lots of small local races such as pre-'70s chairs...vintage races & motards etc. They can be good as its only $5 to get in & you can wander through the pits & there is only 10" of concrete between you & the bikes racing.

What a great shot of miguel...it's almost like he's looking right at you. You seem to be bonding with that 300/2.8 nicely. :)

    Outstanding shots Andrew!!
HoooooHaaaaaah!! Now we're talking. As mentioned, these shots belong on posters, or at the least a calendar. They are all super thumb.gif The sharpness, exposure and color are definitely Pro-level clap.gif

Very, very good stuff and thanks for sharing them with us. You say you still have around 2000 more to edit? mwink.gif I'll be on the lookout for your next post nod.gif

All I can say is this image of Miguel Duhamel is one of the sharpest I've seen.
The pan is dead on with nicely blurred background and wheels.

I cant stop looking at these shots andrew thumb.gif

At the above mentioned 1/250:f9...do you use the IS on the lens or can you pan smoothly enough without it on ?

It's on but really it doesn't make much of a difference. It's just practice...

If anyone fancies a trip over to my motorsport site, I have added quite a few images from the test on Wednesday. I have so many still to update but I was doing som work fro Skip Barber and Dodge today (and will be all next week) that I have to get those out of the way, and then I have to do some horse photography and some billing and some......oh the pain...

I grabbed a copy of a photo edition of a motorcycle rag as
comparison. These blow those shots away.

The other reason I like looking at the magazines is to get an idea how
something's portrayed for the masses. Interesting.

Yeah! That's the fun of it is seeing things through others eyes and then building
    on it.

I find the trick is to see what the 'trigger' was to make them take that particular shot in that light in that manner with that lens....etc...etc....

    We learn by imitation.
