This is a very rare find for me. Normally the males and females pair up and range out away from the lake, so normally I end up shooting the "bachelors". But I not only found a female at the lake but she was feeding, so she let me get close.

All Canon gear: Xti (shutter priority 1/200, ISO 200, -1/3 EV) + MPE-65mm macro lens + MT-24EX set to -2 FEC with home made diffusers. The next two shots are at life size.

This next shot is at 2x.

All Canon gear: Xti (manual mode, F 16, 1/200, ISO 200) + MPE-65mm macro lens + MT-24EX with home made diffusers.

Now at 2.5x.
