Getting photo properties with a Mac

Hi Folks
I need to find out how to get a photo's "properties" so I can get the url to post on a digital grin forum. I know I used to right click with my mouse on my PC, but now I have a Macbook Pro and don't know how to get that info. I'm still a newbie in the world of Mac.
PS. why can't I get smilies to work on the Mac? It only gives the text data for them, not the actural smiley figure.
Thanks for any help or suggestions,
Marcy
