As usual any C&C welcome.

P.S. If read to here, as a bonus prize here is a gallery of shots from the day that I think are decent, but not as good: http://garethlewin.smugmug.com/gallery/3098061

    Gareth,

Excellent work! I enjoyed looking at both sets. You've inspired me to head to San Francisco one Saturday soon for some street pics.

    Regards,
    Wes

Cool. So, how do you like Focal Point? I was thinking of taking courses with either them or Langara.

    I know nothing about Langara.

I have taken several courses with Focal Point and been happy with them all. Some are ofcourse better than others, and my Art of Seeing one on Thursdays is my favorite so far.

#2 is pretty awesome. i love the composition, angle, and the pose! i would photoshop the white thing by her head, and then it would be perfect imo!

    Thanks.

I try to not photoshop my images as much as possible. Not for artistic reasons (Although getting it right in Camera is important) but because I just don't enjoy using photoshop. I spend all day in front of a pc anyway.

But I will watch for marks like that next time, and try to notice them, which is something I am working on.

Very good stuff! Especially the first one (pity about a slightly cut-off tip of her shoe, but still very good). Number 2 is a very good 'non-random' street portait. By 'non-random', I mean that it captures a real charactersic impression, as opposed to just 'face' as such (hope, the explanation makes sense). Btw, I like this one even more (those two were somewhat posed, I assume):

None of the shots are posed. She (and the other girl sitting) were listening to the teacher and I grabbed images of them.

    Thanks for the compliments!
