He started off with a break-away, but a half twist and a sommersault later, he ended up in this position.
He was tripped and had his skate pulled out from underneath him. This clearly shows the trip.
(note: one of the those photos that I think can be shown even when it's not perfect, i.e. focus isn't spot on, etc since it helps tells the story).
The sad part is that a penalty wasn't called on the trip. Instead, the refs called the unside down guy for being in the crease and moved the faceoff to outside the blue line. The unside down guy was stunned and in a bit of pain, but he finished the game.
