What's wrong when things are free

i know i can "once" in awhile make someone oooh and ahhh over an image that ive taken and post processed. but the sad truth is I have no workflow and everytime i post process its up in the air what i can come up with. Im unfortunately blessed with underdeveloped neurons because even though I briefly use CS2 - i have no clue what im doing!!!!!
Anyway - whats the point of this nonsense im spewing....
There are GREAT TUTORIALS on here and ocassionally i will go over them and i pick up new things each time...( i can not tell you how many times ive re-read davids tutorial on adding pop to images ) but becasue they are free i dont invest enough time to actually "learn" as i should. I always tell myself im gonna get to it - but i dont!
Anyway - i enrolled in an online photoshop course ( kinda expensive) but because i now have to PAY for it - im actually learning. I guess when you have to pay a lot for something - you make sure you "use it". But my final point is really about what i wanted to say -
At first you might think that an online course is not a good way to learn something like photoshop - but i have to tell you its A GREAT WAY to learn. My "instructor" is very widely known and personally answers in detail any and all of my questions. He personally critiques any images i forward him. We (the class) get our instruction from watching quicktime videos and we ask questions online. I also keep the downloaded videos to watch over and over again - thats something i like. You might not think that an online course could be personal to suit an individuals needs but this one does.
There are people who sometimes ask is it worth taking a course online? I, in the past would have thought it was a dumb idea - but for me at least it seems to be working. I recommend that people use the great tutorials on dgrin here all the time! I can now also recommend that taking a course online is a great way to learn also! I dont think its proper for me to mention the course by name ( and I wont even if you email me ) but Im going to forward the info to Andy and who knows if whether or not they could savings to dgrin members, that would be awesome and i'd even enroll in other courses!!!! The only downside is its expensive, but again well worth it!

Nice review. It's funny how when you have money at stake all of a sudden you pay attention. mwink.gif I found that investing some time in the bookstore and then in some books helped a lot as well. So, is the course you're taking a secret? deal.gif

    Is the course from PPSOP?
I can't grasp the notion of time.

When I hear the earth will melt into the sun,
    in two billion years,
    all I can think is:
"Will that be on a Monday?"

I see no reason whatsoever why you shouldn't post the website info.

It's no different to saying you liked your camera or your flash. It's not spam, it's a user's experience.

If you're a satisfied customer, let us know!

The course Im taking is a intro photoshop course by geno andrews at the perfect picture school of photography. I have learned so much i can now understand and talk about layers, masking, adjustment layers, clipping groups etc. ( Im only in week two!!! ) It has been so helpful that I am also enrolled in BRYAN PETERSON'S ( Understanding Exposure ) course. Ive read Bryan's book more times that I want to mention ( and i hate reading )!!! The course is "much more" than what is in the book and the personal critiques from Bryan are invaluable ( no disrespect to Shay ).

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the courses at www.ppsop.com

Looks interesting, a nice variety of courses. With those prices I would have been a bit put off without your glowing recommendation. Thanks for the link.
