Small town 4th of July

I live in a pretty small town and a local magazine & website lost their primary photographer recently. I was asked and paid to shoot the 4th of July event.

It is funny what people will do to have their picture taken :rofl

#4's pie looks significantly better than #5's!

I think this is a great peek into a small town's festivities. I love the warm summer light, the candid shots, the water drops from the hose in greyscale. Good thing the fire department only had to worry about sweaty kids and not more major fireworks-induced blazes.

Thank you all for the kind words. It was a good event and though I didn't get paid much it was still a fun shoot.

I am anxiously awaiting to see which ones will be published.

So far I have made the front page of the local magazine's website with one of my fireworks shots and am told an article will be out in the next issue with some of my photos as well.
