Dugmar, I'm sure you've already seen this thread. It's about where *not* to buy. And how to protect yourself online. I suspect that you won't find much, if any, flexibility on price from reputable dealers. The 20D's a new and popular camera. So IMHO you might as well buy from the big boys.
I've been researching where to buy online (money's burning a hole in my pocket...I've been waiting for the PMA announcements before spending). Cameta Camera, an ebay seller, seems to be on the up and up. I've been reading their reviews at an independent review site >http://www.resellerratings.com/< and the reviewers all seem to indicate you'll get a square deal from these folks. Most of the customers who rated the store were very satisfied, said the customer service was very good, people were knowledgable, friendly and didn't try to push extra sales, and that the cameras were in fact USA warrantied (not grey market) and everything shipped as promised. More than a few stated that from now on, they would do ALL their business with Cameta!
So I'm wondering...is this place really all that (and a bag of chips?!!). I really want to be careful, but still get the best deal I can for my money.
Has anyone here ever bought equipment from Cameta? Can the ratings be believed? Their prices are pretty good (not unbelievable) and at least where I live, there won't be any sales tax. Sorry, you NY guys! But the sales taxes kill us out here in "Sunny" California (as I sit watching the rain pouring down and see severe weather and flood warnings scroll by on our TV! ).
I'm almost ready to buy, so any advice is welcome! BTW, B+H and Cameta have very similar prices. On some items, B+H is less, on others Cameta is lower. Takes a bit of research to figure it all out...but probably well worth it in the end~
Cheers!

ps. sorry about the extra URL. For some reason, I couldn't delete it from the body text. The one on top goes directly to the Cameta Camera reviews, so I guess it's worth keeping, eh?
$1369 right now...still a good deal from a very reputable dealer.
