Having just finished a family reunion, I really appreciate the genuine expression you captured here. I would like to see your crop a little tighter to remove the hand/partial person on the left. Love the shot.
I like the hand and partial pants leg in the left side of the shot. Don't know why, exactly, but they seem to fit well with the treatment, along with the texture of the rug. Real life intrudes -- or something like that -- while letting us focus on Connor and friend. Also, the adult hand echoes the boys' hands. The treatment is a great way to help not so great backgrounds enhance rather than detract from a photograph. Very, very nice, IMHO.

and I always welcome constructive criticism, such as the suggestion to crop out the hand and leg, and never want to discourage anyone from doing so with any of my photos-
however, in this instance, gina has somewhat of a feel for what I'm trying to do here-
it's real life; it's balance; it's different; pick one or come up with something else-
you might like it; you might not; either way, thanks again for looking!-
