I recently picked up a set of Kenko tubes and thought I would try them out at the local gardens. Also they are having a year long contest with one winner for each season and the summer season contest just started.

I think I'm going with this shot for my entry:

There are plenty more shots here for you to enjoy:

Let me know if you think my entry is the strongest from my gallery or if another shot stands out at you. A contestant can enter up to 5 shots.

Thank for your input,

Eric

I think that one is a great choice for the contest - I also really like #32. Nice, sharp, beautiful shots.

    Thanks for the kind words!!

Skippy-- I always try different views on flowers yet still find myself coming back to the center of the flower which in turn means a centered picne_nau.gif

Wonderful shot and wonderful colour :)
WRT composition I agree with Eric- think daisy type face on flower shots do look best centred, so as they say rules are there to be broken.

I love the color and contrast, but I'm pretty much the "centering police" :D

Imagine an image where the center of the flower is in the upper left corner, and you can only see a "pie slice" of it with the petals radiating out to fill the rest of the frame...

    Nice gallery!

I am with Skippy and others on this...centering is not to my liking, but perhaps in the botanical world of photography it is.

Anyway, nice macro shot of a beautiful flower!

    Hey Eric,
It can be a small world sometimes. I noticed the title of this thread and thought I would check it out, since my family and I were just there on the 1st. It’s a wonderful place to spend the day.
You got some nice shots in your gallery; you saw some angles that I didn’t see.
Not only were we there on the same day, we are both from Ukiah. Judging by the Google map on your site we only live a few blocks from each other. Then I saw your photo on your main page and I actually remember seeing you at the gardens while we were sitting enjoying some ice cream. Like I said, small world.

Here are some shots I took that day mixed in with some shots taken at the Luther Burbank gardens a couple of weeks before.

    Nice to meet you Eric,
