My first red-tailed hawk

About a month ago while driving a back road near home, I spotted a hawk perched on a hydro pole as I motored by. I slowed and pulled over just up the road. I got out of the vehicle and reached thru the back window to grab my camera which happened to be on the seat with lens mounted. At that point, the bird launched but circled back for a fly-by over the field across the road. I had one chance and fortunately the camera settings were right as I had been using it about 15 minutes earlier. These were at least a 50% crop. Meet my first red-tailed hawk...

1D MkIIn, EF 400 f/5.6L, ISO400, f/6.3, 1/1,600 sec.

Thanks very much Walt. I expect more as well. Just don't know how successful I'll be. I'm looking forward to the fall migration of raptors in September/October.
