I love the first one. It's very haraszo. :) The second one is lovely, too,
but it seems a bit soft to me.

These are gorgeous!!!!! The lighting and the colors and the model are all stunning. I agree that the second one is a bit soft, but to me it looks like it's supposed to be that way...gives it a real painterly quality. Beautiful! clap.gif

While the first one is very very good by itself, I strongly prefer the second one - soft and all... The first one is wonderfully executed, but the second one is timeless.

No question in my mind, #2 is my favorite.

As for softness - well, sometimes sharp/soft is like noise in that having or not having one or the other does not make or break the photo. In this particular case, I believe the perceived softness only adds to the photograph. Very well done.

I agree with what you've already heard several times over... that first one is GORGEOUS. Would love to have a photo of myself done with light like that for a nice portrait. Awesome job, I'm impressed (as usual).

    Lovely lighting and images, Yuri.

Would you care to describe your "lamp lighting"

This looks like a fairly large, soft light, larger than a kerosene wick lamp for instance. Nice warm and soft light though..

    More Cheers for Yuri!
More wonderful shots, Yuri. I think the softness of the second photo is perfect for that shot.

    no secrets,dear friends!
I use two flashes - one 300W with small softbox and another 150W with umbrella reflector.
These flashes have pilot light - which I used to make this light.
I also asked my models to sit still (stand) and made several shots.
I used RAW and had some work with WB.
    Thank you, dear friends!

The first image reminded me of window light, in quality, but much warmer in color temp. This lighting also does not have the cool blueish color quality of flash, but the warmth of fire light or kerosene light or something. You asked your models to sit still - so this is a combined exposure of flash and the tungsten modelling lights perhaps? Or just the modelling lights only.... Ah, I see I think........
Thank you, for your comments, Yuri.
