172083759-L.jpgFirst day out with this lens. I'm in total and complete awe myself of what I see. I have to get to know her a little better. But I anticipate she is going to become my new love. :lust

I figured out why my images were fairly dark, my EV was set very low for some really bright work I had done involving water. I just didn't realize it at the time, whoops.

    Check these.

Wondered why the first set was so dark. They were nice pictures, though.

Like the last shot in the second set. Bright colors and really sharp.

Even shooting in darkness James, I knew that I would love this lens. She will be like a Masarati, a Pinfiera design, a Rolex, a Stradavarius. But my expectations are realistic I think. :D I am in love, there is no doubt. iloveyou.gif

Hawkeye, I wondered why they were so dark too, even though I still liked what I saw and I thought maybe I just processed them dark, as it was 10:00 PM by the time I got them processed night before last. But then I finally checked my EV, whooops!

Well, they were just primarily test shots anyway, trying out the new lens, getting acquanted, coppin' a feel if you will, haha.

We don't realize how much we gave up over the years by getting away from the primes and into the zooms. Your pictures are so sharp. I took for granted the 50 mm f/1.8 prime that came with my old Canon SLR but in retrospect we would kill for lenses like that now.

    Thanks Tom and Marina!

I gave the shot another try, but I think I went back to the dark, I can reprocess and lighten a bit sometime though...

I will admit, I added a couple of flowers to this image, to fill the upper left corner. Amazingly, I think I pulled it off rather nicely, to bad I didn't save the photoshop version, so when I rebuild lighter, I will have to rebuild that too.

I really like No.2 and No.8. If possible I'd like to see a shot with those fowers completely filling the frame with no ground visie :)
