Well I just booked my onward flight to continue my around the world tip and I need to lighten my backpack. I have decided to sell my 80-200 2.8L lens (i bought a new 24-105L IS). I bought this lens about three months ago in peru so I don't know the history of the lens. the lens focuses fast and smoothly. there appear to be no scratches or dents on the lens, just some normal wearing. the lens itself doesnt appear to have any noticeable scratches. However, looking through the lens i can see a black speck and also what appears to be "light" mold. I have include a link of some photos that i just took today with the lens. I will be leaving on the 2nd of August and hopefully I have priced this lens to sell quickly. the price includes the lens, both encaps, the hood and the tripod mounting ring. i will accept paypal. check out my feedback on ebay - KNBA

update, i took it to the camera "repair" guy in the town where i am currently at and at first he didn't even see what i was calling mold and didn't know what to say. what i am calling mold is very light in color, almost transparent.

I tried to take several photos but none of them showed the "mold". when I look through the lens at 80mm I can see in the center "mold/specks). If the lens is the size of a quarter then in the center about the size of a nickel is where I can see very small "specks". These "specks" are not touching each other. it is hard to say how many they are but their size is very fine. when i zoom my lens to about 100mm or higher, these "specks" disappear. I think it may be 'mold" because the specks appear to be equal. I am propably making this sound like a bigger issue but I rather be safe, by selling it for less than it is probably worth, than be sorry
