I haven't been down this way in ages (not since November 2001). With nothing much to do on Saturday, and an itch to go shooting, I headed down.

You really can do everything in NYC!

Inside of Trinity Church

St. Paul's Chapel, down the street from Trinity Church. St. Paul's was across the street from the WTC, yet miraculously, escaped damage on 9/11. In the weeks following the attacks, the Chapel served as a respite and refuge for the rescue workers at the site.

The original altar from the Chapel. It is displayed with many of the mementos left by the family and friends of those lost on 9/11.

Seeing all the displays at St. Paul's brought back many memories from that awful day. It's difficult to see it and not be moved.

"Amazing Grace"

This sculpture, "The Sphere", was in the WTC plaza and damaged on 9/11.

Awesome stuff. I especially love the 911 shots. My wife and I were there a few years back, and it was a very powerful place to visit. There was a sense of awe and reverance around the entire area. Thanks for letting me visit again through your photos.

Thanks, James. One thing I never got around to doing (because I'm an idiot) was visit the towers before 9/11, and the last time I was down there, there was still smoke in the air. It's interesting to see people's reactions, both at the WTC site and St. Paul's.
