Western Tanger

Not a prize winning shot but my first reasonable one of this species. I am going camping for 4 days in the area where I spotted this and several other Tanagers. Hopefully I'll get some better shots.

    Very colorful bird. Nice composition. It might be a tad bright but I bet some photochoppin' could fix that. thumb.gif

    A goldfinch has a shorter beak...and this bird looks like it's larger too.

    Yep, It is mighty bright. It was mid day and this branch is sticking out of a lake so there was tons-O-glare. I'll get em this weekend thoughmwink.gif

    I spotted my WT two days ago! They are so shy......hard to get a good pic, they seem to know just when you are ready to snap the pic!
