Last weekend peaceful Ventura Harbour (Ventura, CA, US) turned itself into Pirate's Cove.
With Jolly Rogers and Captain Jacks, it was a feast for any POTC fan.

I wish I had known about this. I'm only a few hours away and my kids would have LOVED it. Your pictures make it look like such a fun day. Is it an annual event?

It was a fun event indeed. :-)
I'd post about it earlier, but I myself only became aware of it late Saturday - my daughter mentioned it.
I don't know if it's annual, but if you google for it, you'll find tons of info. I know there is another pirate event in September.
Ventura county has a lot events - airshows, fairs, etc. cool thing about the Harbor ones is that they are, erh, cool - the temperature is usually very pleasant mid-seventies, even if the Valley is hit by high-nineties. Nice food, too.
