I just purchased a Sigma 80-400 AF-OS for my Nikon D80. I would like to get a teleconverter but can't decide between the 1.4 or the 2.0. Both will negate the AF but that's not an issue as the OS will still operate. Any comments or insight would be helpful. I am leaning toward the 1.4x as the lens is pretty slow.

I'm not sure at what point Nikon's lose AF with teleconverters. With Canon cameras, most f/5.6 lenses will not AF when you put a 1.4x converter on them. If they do work (either by chance or by taping off the pins), its dreadfully slow and hunts A LOT. I'd be happy with 400mm out of that lens, and save the cash for something else. If you were looking for a longer lens, you may have wanted to look at the Bigma...no VR/OS tho...
