I find this capture simply enthralling!!! I want her to turn and look at me! What is she looking at, I wonder!
You my friend have made a piece of art with this one - I could gaze on it for quite some time! It is SO appealing!!!
remember, you promised an explanation of your conversion method-
Here it is for this one.
PS3 with theimagingfactory's Convert To B&W Pro v3.0 (which has a learning curve but I love it for B&W conversions. It is infinitely adjustable and a pleasure to use). Also...very important.....tightening up the contrast a couple of time using unsharp mask. Something like 10, 50, 0 at full size and then again to the web size image. If it pegs the highlights just lower the opacity on the layer until the histogram looks good. Another neat trick for sharpening is as follows......when you reduce the image from it's full size and want it to be (for example) 800 x 600 or so.........the first downsize should be from it's full size to about 1500 x 1000 or 1400 x 1000 or close to that.....then....in Photoshop......just hit filter > sharpen once......then downsize to 800 x 600 or something close and the image should pop. Try it out.

As for you, I love the conversion and think there's a fantastic amount of detail in there.
