Last week I went with our church's youth group on a mission trip, and to a once every 4 years youth gathering in Greensburo N.C.

We did our mission work in Cherokee N.C. on the Cherokee reservation. We brought 29 teens, there were around 7000 teens in Greensburo. I purposley left my camera gear at home, but we had purchased a Canon S3IS and a new minidv camcorder for the trip that I used for all the pics. I took about 600 snapshoits and 3 hours of video. It was an awesome trip that was completely life changing for some of the kids. I do not intend to do any PP on the pics other than red eye fixes. Here are a few snapshots in no particular order.

Oh yeah,.....It was good to get back home!!!and get some sleep!

The S3 is no XTi, but I highly reccomend it for P&S. There is a newer model (S5IS) but the S3 can be had for a reasonable price. I enjoyed using it and wish I had read the instruction manual so I could have gotten some different looks in the manual modes. All in all it is a good performer.

Did I say I am glad, despite having an incredibly good time, to be home?

Thanks for the replies. It was an awesome experience, and I am only just beginning to be able to wrap my brain around some of the things that happened. I can't wait until next summer.
