I know this is nature and wildlife section , but I am real curious on how your 1400mm set-up would fair on taking a moon shot . Was a beautiful crested moon tonight , but I missed it .
Could you give it a shot and share ???:dunno

    Hi, Walt.

Sorry, I missed this thread and just now found it. It's been clouding over here and not sure a shot will be available. If one is, I'll give it a go.

    Harv ...
Thank you Harv . This is the best I could do with what I have . I am sure 1400 mm would get a great shot , and would be a fine way to test the sharpness of your setup .

Wally, you talked me in to it. My husband always says, has it changed since last month??mwink.gifrolleyes1.gif
But I had to do it anyway. Always an excuse, like trying out the new monopod or the IS comparison.
Tonight I did it without the tripod, monopod, same settingsm with a teleconverter, 1.4x so it was my 300f4 w/1.4x=420mm
A tad softer than without the tele. But larger.
BTW there wasn't much difference in with or without IS. The IS won though. [fully on], and I am sure at slower shutterspeeds it would have also won. [around f6.3 1/640sec here]
