Beautiful shot! I find those big sunflowers hard to compose, but you handled it!

Thanks again! I followed this guy for quite a while. I love the different shades of yellow in the shot. We have all varieties of sunflowers and they all seem to attract tons of butterflys.

Beautiful image, Dana. Very sharp and perfectly exposed.

I would not presume to edit your photo but will offer one comment, which is merely a personal view. If it was my image, I'd be tempted to crop a bit off the bottom. Perhaps an inch or so. I think the proportion would be better and it would eliminate the minor distracting elements in that area. Just my humble opinion.

I never know what to do about cropping. I usually try to stick to the same 2:3 ratio as OOC. I agree it would look better without the empty air at the bottom cropped, but if I do that and keep the same ratio, wouldn't it eat too much of the side of the sunflowe?. I never know what to do here.

There is no rule that says you have to retain the incamera 3:2 crop aspect ratio. You can use any one that works. 2:1, 3:2, 4:3, 5:4 or any free ratio you like. Just crop it to best show the image.

Here are 2 examples, both 8x10 crop (5:4)... one landscape and the other portrait. In my opinion, they both work.

I see what you mean Harv. I like the portrait orientation the best. It's always nice to receive comments and advice from fellow Dgrinners. iloveyou.gif I truly appreciate it.
