Very nice set of clear shots. Good control of the exposure.
Thank you, Socrate. Sounds like you're in my old stomping grounds. I spent some time in Sopchoppy, unfortunately before I got into photography. I just visited friends there and really wished I had brought my camera equipment. What a great area.
Thanks, Mike... now if I were only in your area... I visited St. Pete a few months ago, and I couldn't believe how many great birds were hanging out everywhere--a photographer's heaven.
Excellent shots John! I take it you were using your BushHawk?
Thanks, Glenn. Yes, these are part of a series of practice shots with the Bushhawk, and it made a big difference. Also, I finally let go of my Velvia mentality and boosted the ISO to get faster shutter speeds and greater DOF (thanks to Chris Mayne). Also, thanks to Chris's advice, I'm only doing manual exposures now--much more predictable.
I am now deleting all bird pics from my files.too embarassing to think about posting
WOW!!!!!! Amazing, spectacular..almost like they are coming through the screen.
Thank you very much, Emma Lou. But wait, don't throw away those bird pics. Look at them carefully and decide what you want to improve. Get advice about what you want to fix and then practice. I've been doing those things this year, and my more recent photos are a big improvement over the older ones.

Thanks very much, Joel. I'm waiting for the temps to drop below the 100's to get back to the Salton Sea. Looks like it will be a while...
Thanks very much, Lisa. Glad you liked 'em.
Thanks, Dante, and shot not too far from your place.
Thanks, Keith!
