Bayleaf

I deliberately placed a variegated bayleaf onto the garden picnic table in the late evening light.

I tried different focal lengths and placements until I found one that to me seemed the best.

I chose to angle the wood and leaf within the frame to create a non-standard look to the shot - and the green and the brown giving me contrasting elements.

Canon EOS 400D, aperture priority, 1/60th, ISO 100, f/2.8 on the Sigma 105 EX DG Macro lens, tripod mounted.
