What are the seven deadly sins?

Minimalism: art charcacterized by extreme simplicity and .......

I have to put some thought on this.

Is not gluttony and ribs one of the seven deadly sins?
(Or is it just carbs and points and calories)

Sin has not only been a favorite pastime of humans throughout the ages, but a favorite topic of artists as well! Maybe this has something to do with the fact that most artists are amoral, shiftless oddballs who seem to take perverse pleasure in being on the margins of civilized society

I found that on the web. Since I can't win a KPOTD, I shall certify myself as a bonafide artist by voting for SIN! (Remember, LUST is one of the seven deadly......)

I am still a bit confused over the "7 deadly sins" category. Do we have to portray all 7 in one frame? or do we simply use them as guidelines for a shot. For instance, can we take a shot that portrays "lust" in some manner, or does it somehow have to incorporate all 7?

    Thanks!

I don't know, I only do the dogs, and I never enter them. I have a 5 lb Yorkshire terrier, too, would that fit into minimalism?

    gingerclap.gifclap.gifclap.gif

I am 65 yrs old, where am I going to get a baby?
My cat is hiding from the dogs...........all the time.
    I don't mess with flowers

I have no idea what mind over matter is. I would have a better basis for voting, if I knew what it meant.

Since I did not vote for minimalism, and I did look up the sins, that is ok, but I just skipped over mind over matter because I can not relate it to photography.

Could we get some kind of definition of this stuff........I don't care who gives it to me.

Hmmm, a definition of "mind over matter"??? OK, in the spirit of how to win a challenge... 1drink.gif how about a photo of a small kid trying to move an immense Saint Bernard by tugging on its leash? If the kids face is strained enough the pic could qualify for "emotions" too! :D

    Mind over matter concept:
    Quote from the suggestion thread:
Main rule: show a photo that really needs to be thought about, not just taken for granted with a simple: "wow, that's beautiful". This is, IMHO very attainable through minimalism with 'key-elements' but that is not necessary
    Some examples to clarify :D
    1. Show a photo that clearly demonstrates human ingenuity (BUT, make sure it follows the main rule)
    2. Show a photo that clearly demonstrates a situation of thought (like a student working on a test etc, make sure to follow the main rule)
In short, show the 'mind' of the situation you portray with your photo and make sure it stimulates the mind of the viewer. Perhaps the words 'deeper understanding' might be accurate to describe the goal....
    Okay, my suggestion then:
Mind over matter, a deeper understanding
I'm very interested to know what people think about this :D
*In my mind it IS real*
