Just some pics from a Harry Potter Midnight Magic party, at Barnes & Noble in Springfield. It was an assignment for the Connection Newspapers in Northern Virginia. The rest of the pics are at http://ireno315.smugmug.com/gallery/3188432.
Update:
Here's a video (direct link) of the night.

Too cool! I actually grew up in Springfield and then later on in Sterling and used to read the Connection ;) (now in AZ) By any chance know a photographer named Eric Baldueza?

I didn't make it out to the party but did manage to buy the book for my son thumb.gif

I bet that was fun! I also have read all the previous books. I picked my copy of the new book at CostCo, Sat afternoon. I've started reading it but in no particular hurry about. It was funny though, there were kids all over the place already reading the book while waiting for parents to finish shopping.

As for the photos - these are really good, especially as a documentary of the events of the party. As you were shooting for a newpaper (assumption), the color cast will probably not be a major concern. But, for color printing, you need to set the white balance for flourescent lighting as all these have the typical green cast.

Good - 'cause I've just barely gotten into the second chapter. My life is just too busy these days!

glad to see I'm not the only HP fan about. Picked up the family copy Sat. AM and finished before I went to bed that night. Even Scott's read enough to know that the story hits the ground running!

    cheers,

    C.
