Great self portraits! I know that they can be quite tricky. Personally, I prefer #2. The smile and great eye contact sold me in #2... It looks very natural.

I prefer the composition and angle of the second one. I think a contrast boost and/or setting the white and black point could help to give this one a bit more pop.
The DOF seems to be tricking my eyes though! Your left eye is definitely in focus, and your right eye is slightly out. BUT, your left eyebrow is blurred, yet your right one is sharp? I keep blinking... still there
