Green Island
Photographer's "Heaven on Earth"
Just north of the Savanna, Il. bridge across the Mississippi on the Iowa side.
The Great Egrets were frantic...
...the Canada Geese were dismissive...
...the Herons were apprehensive...
...the Green Herons were shocked...
...and the Pelicans were dismayed...
...because Ric was there with his Canon!!!:clap
DAMN! Did I ever enjoy myself. Over 2000 shots and only 690 went into the garbage.:D

I agree with you on the geese, Walt. Now if the other birds would only act the same way, I could get the same detail...etc.
Thanks!

Thanks, Dick!
I don't need no stinkin' dictionary!
The water in this whole place is like pea soup. Somehow it does not impede them from finding lots of food.
Thanks, Stephen.
Thank you, Socrate.
Where the hell is Thomson!?!
Across the river from Palisades.
Thanks, Dave.
Thank you very much, Emma Lou!

follow the river south on the Il side about 15 miles & you run through it. but don't blink , last I saw there was only 700 population. go 15 more miles & you hit lock & dam 13 . there is an Eagle nest there.
so you were pretty much in Sabula, I think.
Dave
Getting closer!
Thanks, Marina.:D

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
Thanks, Glenn.
My eyes were opened to opprtunities that I had not pursued...things are gonna change.
