    hi antinoo-

    glad you're on the forum-

    I like the portrait-

I'm not sure what you are trying to convey with the words and the photo; sorry if I'm being obtuse-

don't worry about the english part; I'm from east tennessee and some say I only speak a little bit of english, too-

Welcome to DGrin. Don't worry about your english. George isn't the only one here who has trouble communicating :-) Most of the language "spoken" here is in the form of photos anyway!

I really like the photo. I also don't quite understand what it is you are trying to convey.

Have you considered shrouding her shoulders? The lighting is primo! Love the rembrant triangle on her cheek. You have the nice catchlights in her eyes. Simple wonderful. The character of the photo is a little gritty, raw - this is good - expresses strong emotion.

I think i understand what you're trying to convey, however, i don't think it is showing in her eyes as much. Beautiful shot regardless. If you can tell us what nationality this lady is, it might help some to understand better thumb.gif

This shot is a personal tribute to a dear friend that has cancer. The expression in her eyes (for me) is hard, but also illuminated, encouraging.

    Thanks.

This is a stunning portrait. I loved it immediately. But after reading your explanation of what your title means, it certainly empowers the image. I think you captured her beautifully. thumb.gif

I really like the comparison of the eyes (striking brown and white) with the pattern on the headdress. Interesting. Thanks for sharing.

Sorry to hear about your friend. She does look courageous though-- maybe "Courage in her eyes" would be a better title?

    Nice photo.
