High Key Studio Lighting for Infants

Please whip our baby pictures! We're waiting for our new studio toys to get here, so in the mean time we employed some creative lighting for the following shots. Let me know what you think!

Edit: I know this is more than one picture, but as this is a baby, I'm more concerned with lighting/general setup critiques than poses (which change by the second!)

Thanks!

Which is why I've moved it to Technique. :D

Note that while I'm generally happy with the above photos, I'm aware the lighting is quite flat. Unfortunately, all I had was a hot-shoe mounted flash and reflector to work with. I'm getting a couple of softboxes and monolights delivered today, and I will likely re-stage with a bit more modeled light (but I love the general concept).

I edited the name of this thread, so that folks searching are more likely to find it - Baby Whipping, while catchy, is not very informative.

I think the topic is really more like - High Key Studio Lighting for Infants - not catchy, but informative

You could have made it catchy and informative. For example,
"Whipping Babies With Studio Lighting". Or "Lighting Baby Whippings
    In Studios".

Soft box lighting, set your meter for + 1 2/3 to + 2 stops of + Exposure Compensation metering off the white sheets.

Frontal lighting, or side lighting per your artistic judgement.

If you use an incident flash meter, then just use the result that the meter gives, as it is not dependent on the reflecting surface.

Use a WhiBal card in one frame to set your color balance in RAW processing.

    Bing, you're done.
