I love SmugMaps. Adding geographic data to your JPG images before uploading without the use of a GPS logger was always a bit cumbersome and time-consuming. Until now. Geotagger for the mac is the best thing since the invention of the wheel. It is fast, and very easy to use.
It works in combination with Google Earth.
First things first; Download the software and install it. Also install Google Earth if you haven't already.
Make sure you have it in your dock, this is by far the easiest thing to do.
Start both Google Earth and geotagger. Geotagger does not have a separate window.
Go to the location that you took the photo and center that. Select the image (or images) and drag them onto the geotagger icon. The more you zoom in, the more accurate it will be.
That's it, you are done! The geodata will be added to your images.
Upload your images to SmugMug.
After you have uploaded your photos, use the "map it" button to see the map. You can use the 'sattelite' view for actual images of the area.
You can also use the 'map' view to see a map with markers for your images.
Have fun mapping your images!

Yes, just put where you want the marker to be in the middle of the Google Earth view. The more you zoom in, the more accurate you can center it.
It is lacking sort of a cross-hairs maybe

Easytagger is a hardware which can do direct geotagging and also can perform like a data logger, right?
And any more info about geotagging devices?
