Barred Owl Release

Sunday afternoon we got the call from the Raptor Center saying the owl was ready to be released! Tonight was the night - around 8pm we went back to the area where the bird was found and were able to release him back into the wild. It was an awesome experience... the photos below weren't as good as I had hoped, but I'm glad we were able to see the bird flying away (basically back to the tree he was found under).

He actually stood on my wife's hand for a few seconds (and left a parting gift):
