Loon on Six Foot Bay

I found myself at Six Foot Bay this morning with my two good friends, Bob and Paul. We were is search of loons and were rewarded almost immediately. Here are just a few of the many images I brought home.

Thanks, Dave. The distance varied. I would say anywhere from 30 or 40 feet up to 70 or 80 feet. This combo crops very well.

That smoothly feathered head makes it tough to show detail...plus the color of the head doesn't help either. Someday maybe cameras will be able to get what we see or at least a little closer to it. So...given your subject and tools I think you have done an outstanding job here, Harv.

ahhhh...Ontario lakes and their loons!! beautiful set, Harv... they look like Robert Bateman paintings, with the beautiful reflections on the lake! lovely!!
