Am I the first to notice that there's new banner pics up top? And they rotate?

Wow.

And there's Ginger's shot!

That's a wonderful idea and thanks for the thread so I noticed the new feature and could adjust my ad-content filter in my browser. thumb.gif

One suggestion: show the username of the photographer as alternative text. This way it's easy to relate the picture to a name by just holding your mouse onto it. mwink.gif

Ah, I just noticed that the new banner's only apparent in default mode, not white mode. :cry I guess that will change once it all gets set-up.

But no need to rush, good thinks take a while or even longer. I'm sure that you'll come up with something if it's do-able, you always do. :D

Nontheless, thanks for the nice feature! clap.gif

Do you happen to have JavaScript turned off? What's supposed to happen is they don't rotate unless JavaScript is working, but they shouldn't be black.

Hey Baldy, As far as I know I have it enabled. Can someone tell me where all to look to be sure?

All I see is a black space between the words.

Same for me, no images in the banner. I'm using the default style, IE6. There's lots of Java settings, which ones should I check?

    hmmmm ....
I just restedted using the latest IE on WinXP and worked perfect for me. I highly doubt you guys have Javascript turned off, otherwise a lot of the Photo Tools would not work for you in smugmug (you can check by going to Tools > Internet Options > Security > Custom Setting then scroll down to the bottom and make sure Active SCripting is Enabled). Maybe you have some type of ad filter installed, or some other plugin? Also, can you please check the bottom left hand side of the browser window for a yellow warning sign, if it is there double click it and tell me what the error is, thx.

it's way more fun to just say that "on my mac, with safari, i have no problems seeing chris' most excellent banner work"? lol3.gif

ad-blocking or popup blocking sounds like a likely culprit

If you have web assistant, top right hand corner on IE, turn off Block ads and Block popups and the pics appearthumb.gif

It works here at work, and it's really cool! I'll see what's going on at home, I do have a pop-up thingy running but I don't think that would do it.

As for using IE, I tried to get used to Firefox recently but I had issues with several websites, so I dumped it. So you see, I'm not a Microsoft zombie; I do try other things!

Has to be an ad blocker or popup blocker, some 3rd party app for IE.

I used really generic javascript for the rotation that any browser can read, and it has a fallback to still show three if you don't have javascript enabled.

Well just came up to my server in my closet in the office. Dont normally even have a monitor hooked up to it. But I can see the rotation on this system. Not sure what the problem is on my laptop. I will look into it and let you know if I find the problem, in case anyone else comes up with this problem.

thanks for any tips anyone can share

Now that I'm home, it's not showing up in either IE or Firefox. I turned off all pop-up blockers but I am running Norton Personal Firewall, not that that should matter. No big deal, just weird.
