A mating dance..

I shot these 2 love birds...black birds or crows; not sure..headscratch.gif I watched them for about 10 minutes as they performed a sort of ceremonial mating dance. She would get all puffed up and sing, He just looked toward the sky as if pleading.. for her to stop singing maybe? Then the roles would switch. He would puff up and sing and she looked toward the sky..They let me get quite close to them and didn't even notice me or my camera...
It was a bright overcast morning..Shot with 717. Converted to BW because other than the wood there was no color..

    I love the fine patterned feathers on the bird to the left, whatta cool shot! I love the ones where you wait and wait and wait, and finnaly get your pay off.

    Trish this is just great. I really enjoy this shot and the story. Animals are very interesting to watch and learn from.

    trish, this is lovely. charming! i took it, bumped up the highs, so that it was more uniformly blown out. and i also made a small version of it, look for it in the dgrin banner soon!
