Need help with polls

Okay, so I want to post a thread with several images and a poll. I've checked the box at the bottom of the new thread saying "Yes, post a poll with this thread" and entered the number of options, but I get nothing further than that (as far as defining those options, etc.) and when I preview the post, no poll shows. I've tried doing a search on posting polls and read the "How to do just about anything", and still have come up with nothing. Can someone give me a pointer please?

The trick with the polls is that you have to click "submit reply" before you come to the poll options page.
