    You have a gallery location inserted for the photo.
    Change it to the actual photo and it should work.

    The link is under the "share button".

    But you can go to the photo in the gallery and look in the address bar of the browser.

    Change gallery to photos and use the photo number.

    Simon,

    There are numerous ways to get that url...

    1. Select the image that you want, then click the "Share" button from the gallery
    2. If your browser supports it, right-click the image and select "Copy Image Link"

    Cheers,

    Thanks David, you mean that after clicking the 'share' button you copy the URL?

    The second one is cool! That works (although Safari calls it 'image addres')

    thanks guys - gettingthe hang of it:D

    After clicking the share button you will see a series of URLs that you can copy - one for the photo in the gallery, one for each size of photo...

    I use the share button all the time to grab the urls for the photos that I link to from my blog.

    am I looking in the right place?

    I clicked theshare button but I can't see any URLsheadscratch.gif

    Did you click the share button or the save photo button?

    I only have share (easy sharing under social on the customize gallery page) turned on only when I am logged in.

    I click to the photo I want (in a smugmug-styled gallery).
    Then I click "share photo".

    Once on the share page I can copy one of the urls:

    Ahhh! I've been wondering how to link, now that I've right-click protected most of my galleries!

    At some point in my customization, I removed the line of buttons that has the "share photo" button in it. Is there a way to put it back in but only have it show up for me when I'm logged in?

    Elaine -
    You need to enable share in your gallery customization, then add this to your CSS:
        .share_button,
        #altViews .nav
           {display: none;}

        .loggedIn .share_button,
        .loggedIn #altViews.nav
           {display: block;}

    Thanks, Denise! Share is enabled, I've added the code, but the buttons still don't show up? I think I got rid of them before, trying to clean things up, but now I'm not sure what I did? Any more ideas?

    Thanks a bunch!

    Oops! Sorry.

    I just looked at the share button in Firefox, and it's inside of something called #altViews .nav. And I had that in my own CSS, just didn't realize the close (as in required) relationship to the share button.

    I added that to the code snippet in my post above (at http://www.dgrin.com/showpost.php?p=607153&postcount=11).

    Hopefully adding that change will work for you.

    Still no go...it's very possible that I'm doing something wrong here! I'll double check what I've done so far.

    I think you need the .loggedIn for each.

    .loggedIn .share_button,
    .loggedIn #altViews.nav
    {display: block;}

    Of course you do!

    Sorry for the brain-dead copy and paste on my part.
    I fixed the earlier post in case someone else decides to copy the code.

    Thanks again Allen!

    In my CSS code, I have this line:
    #altViews {visibility: hidden;}

    Could this be preventing everything we're doing from showing?

    I obviously know nothing about how this stuff works, but I just think I've got something in my code that is preventing that whole line of buttons from showing up, no matter what I'm doing now.

    I'm sorry...I'm probably driving you nuts! eek7.gif
