Fuji F50fd:
http://www.fujifilmusa.com/digitalcamera/overview.jsp?prodCatId=871478&item=I871478&dbid=871478&urltype=overview&NavBarId=I871478

Follows the F10, F20, F30, F31fd, and F40fd

Key features (my list)

12 MPix resolution (not that important to me)
1600 ISO at full resolution
3200 ISO at reduced resolution (binning, 6 MPix)
6400 ISO at reduced resolution (binning, 3 MPix)
Image Stabilization (chip based)
35-105mm Zoom, f2.8 (slightly different from previous)
Supports xD and SD cards (hooray)
2.7" LCD (a little larger)
Face Detection 2 (automatic redeye removal?)

If Fuji can make the ISO 1600 work (low noise) at full resolution, and IS to boot, this is going to be a tough little digicam to beat. Even the 6 MPix ISO 3200 would be nice if similar in quality to the F30/F31fd.

With a predicted price of $299 and a release date of September, I am quite interested to replace my SD400 with it (particularly since our SD400 stopped functioning due to a rafting incident a couple of weeks ago).

Very interesting!! The lens leaves a bit to be desired but the rest of the specs are ear perking. While a lot of these P&S's boast high iso numbers, how usable is it?? ISO 3200 on a camera 3-4 times the price can be iffy at times... then toss in a tiny super dense sensor and we'll see what happens ;)

I'll admit the facial recognition software is sweet. My friend just got a canon sd1000. We were tricking the software by drawing faces on a marker board rolleyes1.gif Its pretty wild stuff!
