It's been one of those weeks and yesterday was no better... so since I couldn't really get out and shoot I made my own shots. Figure it's good practice. I am getting out this weekend to shoot a rally cross over in WV:barb I'm pretty excited since I had so much fun shooting the one in Orange in June. Although my camera and I came home with about 20 lbs of red clay dust clinging to us.
This first shot I was playing with white balance, since I need to learn more of the ins and outs of my camera... and a homemade diffusser/reflector on the built in flash. I just liked the way it came out.
I tweaked the saturation and contrast on this one just a bit...
And what girl doesn't like Caramel and Chocolate?
And just for fun.... to show you why my Nikon and I were covered in dust (please no knockin' the Nik) this is one of the oh so fun shots I got at the WDCA SCCA RallyCross in June....

Can't say I like the bottle shots too much. The first is too dark, and the second apears to have the highlights blown too much. Even then the subjet matter is just kinda blah (at least for me).
The candy is a cool shot. I like that oozing of the caramel. I hope you properly cleaned up; i.e., consumed, the subject matter!
I have to say that you appear to have a lot of dust on your sensor. It is quite evident in your last shot.......hold on......sorry, that dust is from the car. Nice capture on that!

Thanks David... I appreciate your honesty As for the first two... artists liscense and I know that the subject matter isn't everyone's cup of tea. At the time it was just something to shoot, and I ended up liking those. But then in someways the significance is personal.
Can you believe I didn't eat it? Will power! I'm sure that wasn't the case... I just didn't eat it.
Actually.... there are two stubborn pieces of dust on my sensor... but believe it or not I think they got there well after that shoot. Can't be positive. Need to get a sensor cleaner... but no one carries it locally. Besides why clean it before I shoot this weekend? Will definately take care of it before I head to NC at the end of the month. Glad you liked that shot... I actually got releases signed by that driver. He's going to be staying with us for the rally this weekend.

Thanks Awais... I was blowing red clay out of my nose for a week... and that was with wearing a dust mask.

I love the car shot!

Hi Christina, can't say the bottles do anything for me either,
but the other two shots are great
The choc one looks very inviting I can feel the weight on my hips now
Love the dirt trail flying off the car too ... Skippy
